The Red Room

Yes...the room is red! Really Really Red! My daughter has learned well from me. She is not afraid of colour!
We spent the weekend painting this room and getting red all over ourselves as well. Surprisingly we worked really well together. No Mother /Daughter tiffs. I guess neither one of us had PMS!!! The red is the start of the Asian Teddy Bear Room. Strange combo? Well yes but she collects teddies and she loves all things asian thus the moniker. I will get a picture once it is fully decorated.
Rhea is now at her Grandma's for a couple of days and I am hoping that I won't be too tired after work to do some sewing. I have fabric for the window curtains and the closet curtain.
Knitting....almost very nearly finished the Opal socks. The poncho is at the point where I am shaping to go over the arms and shoulders (the front only). It is looking really good!
I am in the process of of planning a one day knitting workshop to be offered at Myrtle Station Wool. Which class do you think would be more popular....a felted purse or a cable scarf? I was thinking a small felted purse first and the next month maybe the scarf...I know the only thing to do is plan and advertise....take the plunge....I only need 4 to 5 to make my time worth it. My teaching is starting to go in a new direction and I am hoping that it grows into something more!

Felted purse, absolutely. Cables look so much scarier. I'd work my way up.

Just as an aside, about your question in my comments, I am about 1,742km from Myrtle Station. I'd would say yes in a minute if I was closer, or my Mr. could find an equal or better paying job with equal or better health insurance and benefits too.

Oh, and the red room has captured my interest. I will tune in again to see how you are going to meld teddy bears and Asian decor.

Yup, do the felting first! It covers SUCH a multitude of beginner boo-boos, and a bag makes a great gift or a keeper for the maker. (The first thing I made for me was the French Market Bag from Knitty, and it's still my knitting bag.)

Ther redroom (heh) looks tres chic!

I think a felted purse would be a fun project.

I love the red room. My hallway is that color, and it just pops.

Love the red room! How rich and dramatic. Love the idea of both classes, but the felted purse might be a good place to start, and then the scarf later in the year (cooler weather, you know :0)

I love the red room!! Good luck with the classes. I think I, personally, would choose the purse if given an option between the two.

Hi Martina, the Curve of Pursuit on my blog is the one I made. I bought the pattern. There's one picture of a Curve of Pursuit in the Mason Dixon book, which was made by someone else. I like mine better because she used two similar colors or maybe it's because of the bad picture in the book. So, yeah, I've figured it out, but it had cost me some bucks! ;o)
